BASEL, Oct. 5, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- Swiss insurer Baloise Holding said it will set up a life insurance unit in Liechtenstein, Baloise Life, in order to tap the fast-growing market for investment-linked life insurance in Europe. The decision to set up a unit in Liechtenstein was partly based on the possibility to provide cross-border services from the country.

The new unit will offer its investment-linked life insurance products through a number of different sales channels. In Luxembourg, Baloise has already been operating successfully in this business for many years, the insurer said.
