The World Bank: Denmark has Europe’s best business climate

According to the World Bank’s new report ”Doing Business 2008” Denmark is the best country in Europe in which to do business. According to the World Bank’s new report ”Doing Business 2008” Denmark is the best country in Europe in which to do business, writes the World Bank in a press release publishing the new report.
Denmark is on a global fifth place and first in Europe in terms of business climate. On the top of the global list is Singapore, followed by New Zealand, USA and Hong Kong. Denmark has thus moved forward from a seventh place compared to last years survey. According to The World Bank it’s a unique position as Denmark has succeeded in catching up with Great Britain that especially in terms of language an infrastructure has advantages that Denmark can not match.
Moreover, The World Bank finds that it is praiseworthy that Denmark in spite of its high ranking continues to introduce reforms that shall make it still easier to become entrepreneur and run a business. The countries are measured on a range of parameters i.e. bureaucracy when starting a business, how easy it is to hire and fire employees, if it is possible to contact the public bodies over the internet, how long time it takes to get a building licence etc.
