Latvia's Jan-Sept national budget fiscal surplus 402.5 mln eur

RIGA (Thomson Financial) - In the first nine months of 2007, the fiscal surplus in Latvia's national budget amounted to 282.871 mln lats (402.491 mln eur), growing 20.763 mln lats from the previous month, the official budget performance figures released by the State Treasury suggest. The expenditures of the state main budget exceeded revenues, while the revenues of the state special budget exceeded expenditure in September.

In September, revenues to the main state budget amounted to 233.187 mln lats and expenditure stood at 257.494 mln lats resulting in a fiscal surplus of 24.307 mln lats. The January-September main state budget revenues amounted to 2.192 bln lats, while expenses stood at 2.190 bln lats and fiscal surplus made up 1.861 mln lats.

The official total state budget data, including consolidated state and municipality budget data, will be released in mid-October. The amendments to Latvian state budget for 2007 provide that the revenues to the budget in 2007 are planned at 4.488 bln lats, while the expenditures are estimated to reach 4.434 bln lats.
