Social Democrats Hold Lead in Croatia

Abstract: (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The governing Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) is trailing an opposition party by a small margin, according to a poll by Puls published in Jutarnji list. 30.8 per cent of respondents would back the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the next general election.
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The governing Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) is trailing an opposition party by a small margin, according to a poll by Puls published in Jutarnji list. 30.8 per cent of respondents would back the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the next general election.
The ruling HDZ is a close second with 28.7 per cent, followed by the Croatian Right’s Party (HSP) with 7.3 per cent, a coalition encompassing the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) and the Littoral and Highland Region Alliance (PGS) with 7.2 per cent, the Croatian Pensioners Party (HSU) with 6.4, the Croatian People’s Party (HNS) with five per cent, the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) with 1.7 per cent, and the Democratic Centre (DC) with 1.5 per cent.
