Switzerland's Jelmoli has turned down a request by the buyers of its real estate portfolio to renegotiate the deal given credit market turmoil, saying it would stick to the sale price. "Jelmoli will not consider any renegotiation of the agreed terms," the former retailer said on Friday.
High-rise projects multiply
In a departure from traditional Swiss planning, developers appeal to businesses who want their "place in space," offices elevated above the rest of the city with a panoramic view. Switzerland is succumbing to high-rise fever. Traditionally, the country’s larger cities have resisted tall buildings, with church towers typically poking out above centers with buildings averaging no more than six or seven storys.
