Bujumbura - Burundi's president started consultations with a key opposition party in a bid to break a political deadlock that has crippled the small central African nation for months, sources on both sides said Wednesday.

Burundi: The 2008 Annual Budget to Be Presented

The annual budget for 2008 will be presented to the National Assembly in early November 2007, the Finance Minister Ms Clotilde Nizigama said. The Finance ministry is still awaiting the results of talks with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund which are due to start in late October 2007.
