Jamaica's real estate market recorded transactions valued at about $50 billion last year, according to realtor Deborah Cumming addressing an investment conference on Wednesday. Cumming, the managing director of Century 21/Heave-Ho Properties, Jamaica, said real estate remained a sellers market throughout 2007.

Energy Minister Clive Mullings has ordered a probe into an islandwide power failure which plunged the country into darkness for several hours on Wednesday night. Energy Minister Clive Mullings also summoned Jamaica Public Service (JPS) executives to a meeting Thursday to explain the outage which company officials said was caused as a result of a major failure on a transmission line. |
